Meeting Reminder:
Data centers dominate the headlines, so for next month’s meeting, we’re going to examine one for ourselves. On Friday, October 23, we’ll visit the Sleep Number headquarters (1001 Third Avenue South) in downtown Minneapolis. Alexander Johnson of Cogent Communications will be our guide, starting at 11:00 a.m. His company has also agreed to buy us lunch afterwards, so this should be a fun day.
For now, let’s plan on getting your RSVPs in by October 17. The building is a few blocks south of the Government Plaza light rail station. From the sound of things, he will be the one to send you the specific itinerary and building access protocol as we get closer. There will also be some parking spots reserved for us on the day of, I suspect either at the Leamington Garage or the municipal ramps bordering the Convention Center. If you can attend, here’s what I need. 1) The names and preferred email addresses of everyone in your group (if you’re carpooling). 2) Whether or not you’re driving, and possibly what car that will be in. 3) If you’ll have any physical accessibility needs or dietary restrictions to be aware of. |
